| LOCATION | 20 minutes north of Christchurch International Airport and 30 minutes north of Christchurch city centre. |
Visitors will be able to bottle feed a cria (baby), touch the alpacas and take plenty of photographs. Your guide will provide a commentary on the farming operation and answer any questions. There will be plenty of time for visitors to walk amongst the alpacas and interact with them - they are naturally curious and they will come up to you provided there is plenty of quiet and no sudden movements.
Afterwards visitors will be taken into our show room where you can see many of the ribbons and trophies that Silverstream animals have won at Agricultural and Pastoral (A & P) shows around New Zealand. We have a small selection of alpaca garments available for sale. The garments include scarves, hats, gloves, toys and ponchos. All products for sale are 100% alpaca produced from our own Silverstream animals. Visitors will be shown the raw fibre fresh from shearing right through to processed yarn.
To conclude the tour, visitors are free to walk around our beautiful gardens
with river setting, relax and enjoy the surroundings.
